What's wrong with our education system?

1)
It keeps poor children poor and creates an excuse culture which is the inability to allow children to be responsible for themselves. This has created a culture of privilege where children will turn up to exams without a pen because they expect to be given one. Also there is poor behavior of students alongside a system which does not allow discipline of students

2)
According to the teacher the problem exists because of the excuse culture. Everybody thinks that the failure of a student comes from their background and not because of their responsibility towards their studies. Teachers are afraid to speak out because they don’t want to embarrass other teachers or shame their school. The school culture has moved away from the idea that people should feel responsible for themselves.

3)
The Labour Minister agrees with the teacher, he says that Labour did try to correct the education system whilst in power, but did not create a system that worked for everybody. He insists that sometimes there are genuine reasons why children behave badly.
The Conservative Minister agrees, and adds that the complaints culture damages the system, because teachers can’t do their job properly for fear of being suspended.
Neither party accepts responsibility for the failings of the education system and the teacher says that she does not blame either party, the system has been failing for a long time.

4)
She suggests “Right wing thinking” namely being responsible for yourself, both teachers and pupils, as well as holding people to account – making sure people are responsible for their actions. It should not be guaranteed that a student will keep his place at school despite any misbehavior, because they feel that they can get away with anything.

5)
She would want to empower teachers and headteachers to be able to bring discipline in their schools and giving them more freedom to teach. She says that Local Authorities play too big a role in schools at the moment. We should trust our teachers. Exams should be made harder, because they’re getting easier and easier every year, but no one accepts responsibility.

In France, school is free, secular and any child from any background can, in theory, excel in school and have the future in their hands. However, for me, the French education system itself could see some changes, let me explain:

 Time-table too full !

I remember when I was in high school, I had more than 30 hours per week, and we often had all the examinations for these courses in the same week: it's incredible!
The system in England is: up to 15 h 00, which is shorter and there are various activities which is  better I think.
Even today in the second academic year I have spent some sleepless nights, and during the little free time I have, I catch up on my sleep but I am still exhausted in the morning.
During the weekend I do not usually have time for extracurricular activities. Fortunately, there are holidays but can we call them that?
In college and high school, students have serious problems with foreign language courses. This is an area that we must practice daily, but in France, its learning is limited to the classroom!

The dictatorship of the classroom

France has a culture that I can sum up in four words: "you are no good!". A culture that does not hesitate to put 0 to a bad piece of work, but will never give 20 of 20 to an excellent one. A culture that marks negatively. In fact, my score will depend on what I do not know instead of what I do.

Boring Program:

In college and high school, the curriculum is very long, I remember that from the 5th to the 2nd,  the "Second World War chapter was boring. It disgusted me. Each year, the program was greeted by calls of  "againnnn?!" which teachers responded with "Yes, but the information from the last year you have learned with the mistakes that must be corrected.
Now, what can we do to improve our school system? It is not obvious if there is a magic solution, just like the solution to the problem of unemployment. To be totally honest with you: I DO NOT KNOW!. But the criticism is constructive ;)
